Display Cases

'Beryl Dean was an important innovator in 20th century ecclesiastical embroidery, as practitioner and teacher, and among her many commissions were five large-scale panels depicting the life of Christ for the Rutland Chancery of St George's Chapel, Windsor.'

The display of precious and historic objects requires specialised, custom-made cabinets, cases and cupboards. Treske collaborate with architects, historians, archivists, conservation experts and clergy to guarantee that conservation, security and access are addressed as equally important factors in their design and construction.

Beryl Dean Tapestry Cupboard
For five embroidered panels depicting the life of Christ for the Rutland Chancery of St George’s Chapel, Windsor by Beryl Dean, Treske designed a system of hanging within an oak cupboard against the wall inside the Sovereign’s Entrance. When opened the panels can be viewed three at a time before being folded back behind the glass front which, when closed, allows those passing to enjoy a panel chosen for its relevance to a point in the liturgical year.

St George’s House, Windsor
A small wall hung glass fronted book display case stained to match other furniture in the reception area. It was designed and made to house a specific and significant volume.

St Hilda’s, Hartlepool
A secure tablet box was commissioned for the display of the ancient Hartlepool stone with its runic inscription to a Saxon nun named Hildithryth.
